Hi! So unfortunately what happened to this exchange is that I was sick for most of February with some kind of flu-like thing, and that ended up pushing this too close to the start of the other exchange I run, which has signups in March. I don't want to try running two at once, especially since I'm traveling during that time (and still getting back up to full health).

The other one is over in June, so I'm thinking maybe I'll take another shot at this in the summer, if there's still interest! I'm thinking perhaps July-September or something along those lines, before the fall/winter exchange season gets rolling.

Hello, and welcome to We Are The Raza (the name could change, if anyone has a better suggestion): a Dark Matter fanworks exchange!

This is the initial planning post. Please feel free to offer suggestions.

Proposed rules:

This exchange is generally modeled after the exchange I run for Agent Carter, ssrconfidential, which in turn is modeled after AO3 exchanges such as Yuletide and Chocolate Box. The rules will be typical of those exchanges - you'll nominate character and relationship tags, then will be matched to someone else who requested at least one of those characters or relationships, and the same type of fanwork you're offering. The rules will be in most ways identical to those of SSR Confidential. There's going to be one change (which I'm likely to also deploy in SSR Confidential this year), which is that each character or relationship will be a separate request, so you don't have to lump all your requests into one box and can request, say, art for one pairing and fic for another.

Types of fanworks will be, at the very minimum, fic, art, and vids. If there is something else you'd like to see, you can suggest it in the comments.

Dates:

Since I'm the sole mod for both this and SSR Confidential, I want to avoid overlapping the "active" modding phases of the two exchanges - i.e. the nominations/signup phase and the end-of-deadline/posting phase. SSR Confidential typically has signups in late March and posts in June. Since Dark Matter has a small but active fandom that usually participates in all the small fandom exchanges, I'd also like to try to avoid overlapping too heavily with another exchange with a large Dark Matter component. (Though a little overlap is inevitable; I noticed Space Swap is starting up soon. The fannish calendar is so full of exchanges these days that you can't avoid 'em all.)

Right now I'm thinking about waiting until Chocolate Box winds down, and then having nominations and signups in late February, with the reveals period in early May. That'll give a two-month window for fanwork creations, which is roughly the same as SSR Confidential, and seems to work fairly well for that one.
